Mars Rat

Mars rat.  Mars rat?  I smell a rat!

Mars Rat Big

Could it be… ‘or was it shopped?  Naw… or should I say KNAWsorry.

Whatever your opinion. There now exists a Mars rock photo that resembles a rodent scuttling across the surface of the red planet. It is going around the ‘net with great speed too. It is even getting a twitter name.  Before you know it, there will be Mars Rat selfies, and wall paper for your iphone and android.

Yep. Only on this planet can a rock on another planet cause such a stir. Maybe we have too much time on our hands. Or maybe we need to get out and walk in the woods instead of pondering the heavens in front of our ipads for hours on end.

UFO buffs spotted the purported “Mars rat” in a panoramic photo snapped in September 2012 by NASA’s Curiosity rover. Zooming in on a portion of the image reveals what appears to be a rodent crouching between two rocks, its nose to the ground.

“It’s a cute rodent on Mars. Note its lighter-color upper and lower eyelids, its nose and cheek areas, its ear, its front leg and stomach,”

Okay, here we go with the conspiracy theory… Did NASA fly the rodent and release him/her on the planet to see what would happen… Debate, debate, debate. No way… couldn’t survive the cold.  Here comes PETA.  Nancy Grace is in the parking lot with a live feed.

The Mars rat has now gone viral and is even oh dp@large… now you know it’s big! So let’s keep it going.  Like my blog… follow me on twitter… @dplatlarge. and buy some damn advertising.. fill in the form and I will send you a one pager on how to buy a block ad. It’s cheap… but more than that.. it’s the right thing to do.

Is it Pareidolia?  I think so.  What is Pareidolia…  ( i had to look it too, I’m not that smart) Pareidolia refers to the tendency of the human brain to perceive animals or other familiar shapes in vague or random images. The phenomenon has fueled a great deal of excited speculation about the Red Planet over the years, most famously after some people saw a humanoid face on Mars in photos taken by NASA’s Viking 1 orbiter in 1976.

Whatever it is and however it got there, it sure is interesting.

Time for a cheeseburger!  Anyone care to join me?

Nancy Grace Delivers Reliably Bonkers Coverage Of Jodi Arias Trial

Nancy Grace Delivers Reliably Bonkers Coverage Of Jodi Arias Trial

English: Nancy Grace at her book party for her...

Nancy Grace

With the Jodi Arias trial reaching its climactic moment on Wednesday, the eyes of the nation turned, as they always do, to Nancy Grace.

The HLN anchor has always been controversial for her deeply emotional, over-the-top style, but she is never less than compulsively watchable. As the verdict in the trial was announced, Grace’s name was trending higher than Arias herself.

And with good reason. Grace was her usual out-there self, barking out stemwinder after stemwinder as she waited for the verdict to be handed down.

At one point, she went on a long monologue about murder victim Travis Alexander, choking up as she lingered over an image of his “decomposing” body and speculating about how any mothers watching might be feeling if their son was murdered. (Hint: they’d be sad.)

As the verdict approached, Grace began getting increasingly agitated:

After Arias was found guilty, Grace choked up again, and she took on a cadence previously seen when Walter Cronkite talked about the Kennedy assassination.

“There is a verdict,” she said dramatically. “Guilty on murder one.”
